How anyone can make a blogging hobby pay for itself
I signed up for PayperPost, a company that pays bloggers for placing reviews or ads on blogs. It seemed like an interesting way to make my hobby of blogging pay for itself, and I have to say I’ve been pleasantly surprised by how easy the whole process is.
Just click on their banner ad in my side bar to go to their site and find out more.
Just log in on their site, and if you see an opportunity that strikes your fancy, you can take it and write to the specifications outlined. The opportunities start at $5.00, but quite often exceed $10. Some are well over $100.
In my first few weeks, I’ve already made close to $100, which nearly covers my blog hosting costs for the year. I’ve also had a chance to be exposed to some great sites, like Newsroom.com. I’ve explored topics related to photography that I never knew about before all in my quest to make my opportunity posts camera related.
Best of all, there is nobody to tell you what to do—you choose the opportunities that feel right and whose specifications you are comfortable with. I highly recommend every blogger to take a serious look at PayperPost. Get paid for your blogging hobby. This post is sponsored.
No commentsPhotographic quality stickers
Have you ever been driving down the street and almost gotten into an accident because of the attention-grabbing bumper sticker on the car in front of you?
This should be a cue to all advertisers…a clever sticker placed in the right spot can be better marketing than a massive billboard–and at just a fraction of the price.
The folks at customizedstickers.com specialize in high-quality stickers of all sorts. If I had an unlimited ad budget for this blog (or let’s be honest, any budget at all) I’d make some funny custom labels, bumper stickers and the like. Try to get a buzz going, at least in my neighborhood. This is a sponsored post.
No commentsSave on your digital photo prints
Before you order photo prints from an online store, check out the deals at keepcash.com. They have thousands of merchants who are offering online shopping coupons.
The Shutterfly.com discounts are like hitting a jackpot for anyone who orders a lot of digital photos online. How does 20% off your next order sound? Another Shutterfly coupon offers a free 8×10 print with a purchase of $10 or more.
It’s easy to redeem the coupon of your choice. Simply click on it and you will be shuttled away to the merchant’s page. A pop-up window will also appear to give you the coupon code. Pretty simple.
The deals on Keepcash.com are updated daily, so it’s good to check back often. You can look for your favorite merchant, or also shop by category. And yes, they do have a digital camera category, which is well worth browsing through before your next camera purchase. This is a sponsored post.
No commentsWhat every webmaster should know
I want to talk for a moment about search engine marketing and optimization (SEM and SEO), topics relevant to every blogger and website.
SEM and SEO boggle the minds of most common web users. But if used properly, they can be important tools for increasing traffic to your site. Apogee Search, an SEM firm based in Austin, TX, has put together a helpful glossary of SEM terms that every uninitiated webmaster should read and be familiar with.
Don’t know the importance of a 301 redirect or what ‘doorway pages’ are? Look it up here. And if you want to see a great example of how SEM and SEO works, check out the ‘miserable failure’ glossary link.
Apogee also offers tips on keeping to Ethical SEO standards. Google will penalize any site that engages in so-called ‘black hat’ SEO tactics. On the same token there are a lot of opportunists out there that prey upon naive webmasters. Arm yourself with information by checking out Apogee and its resources. This post was sponsored.
No commentsPhotography trip to Florida

A friend of mine just got back from a two-week photography trip to Florida. He’s an avid photographer and said some of the best shots he’s ever taken were in South Florida: urban portraits in Little Havana, fashion shooting in South Beach, and some good old fashioned wildlife photography in the Florida Everglades.
He used a Canon EOS 30D and the Canon Digital ELPH 630 complete with a waterproof casing—a must for the Everglades. After seeing the photos, it’s making me want to book a trip there.
I’ve actually done a little bit of research and it’s not as expensive as one would think. I found a great deal on Destin vacation rentals online on a site where condo owners list their properties to rent. This is perfect if you’re like me and want the comforts of home (i.e. a kitchen) while on the road.
I’ve also found options for a studio condo right on Ocean Drive in South Beach, and an historic old house in the Florida Keys that could sleep six (anyone want to go?). You can basically pick the city you want to stay in and chances are, somebody is willing to rent their place. Just click on the icon and you’ll be emailing the property owner.
So, if anyone has any suggestions of photo worthy places in Florida, send ‘em my way!

Find Digital Camera Deals with online coupon codes
It can be expensive to keep up with the newest digital camera technology, particularly because better and better models are constantly being released. Nikon’s amazing D40 digital SLR was only on the market a few months before the company improved upon it and released the D40X.
That’s why online coupons can make all the difference. There’s a great site called Coupon Chief that lists thousands of deals from big name merchants.
They list new deals every single day for all types of products, but I of course keep a trained eye on the look-out for camera coupons.
The Best Buy coupons are fantastic–today I found deals for $50 off the Samsung NV10, $20 off the Kodak V1003, and sales on photo printers. Just click on the coupon link you want, and you’ll get shot over to the merchant’s page, where the discount is clearly marked on the final price.
I also like the Camera World coupon: free shipping on orders of $100 or more.
Check also for deals straight from the manufacturer. Coupon Chief has compiled Sony discounts onto one page, where it lists special prices on many of the most popular Sony products including laptops, camcorders and digital cameras.
When I last checked Sony’s coupon page, they were offering 15% off select camera and camera accessories, and $100 off instant savings with the purchase of a DSLR camera and HVL-F36AM flash.
Not too shabby if you’re in the market for one of those products.
Couponchief.com is definitely worth checking out before you make that next purchase online. This is a sponsored post.
No commentsA world of photos and digital cameras
If a picture is worth a thousand words, a good digital camera is priceless.
We’re excited about this site–compiled by photographers from varying fields and skills levels including hobbyists, photojournalists, and fashion shooters. Each day we will select a Photo of the Day, comment on it, and discuss the camera equipment used to capture it (when known).
We’ll also write about digital camera and photography issues, resources, and more. Use digitalcamerafiend.com as a guide or a good read. And please…drop us a line if you have something to say!
